Rescue Them

Through the hard humanitarian conditions that affect Yemen, “Rescue Them” campaign has emerged as a spot of hope, drawing stories of solidarity and giving.

Over the past period, the campaign has succeeded in reaching 41,288 individuals from the most vulnerable groups through a comprehensive package of emergency projects that met their basic needs, confirming that the hand of kindness is still capable of making a real difference.

From overcrowded displacement camps in Taiz and Marib to remote villages in Hadramout and Abyan, field campaign teams have been mobilizing to provide life-saving support in four vital sectors: food security, drinking water relief, shelter, and cash Aid.

First: Food Security – A Top Priority to Save Lives:

  • The emergency food aid project was the cornerstone of the campaign’s interventions, benefiting 9,988 individuals. Recognizing the seriousness of food insecurity, the campaign diversified its support methods to include:
  • Hot Ready Meals: Distributing 2,661 hot meals to needy families in IDP camps in Taiz and Marib governorates and orphanages.
  • Food Parcels : Distributing 1,117 comprehensive food baskets in Taiz, Marib, and Hadramout, benefiting more than 5,808 individuals. These were not just food supplies; they served as a message of safety and stability to thousands of families suffering from hunger. The baskets contained basic ingredients that ensured families could prepare their meals for weeks.

Bread Distribution: 295 bread parcels were distributed in Taiz, benefiting approximately 846 individuals.

  • Meat Distribution: 40 calves were slaughtered and their meat distributed to displaced families in Marib, benefiting 8,320 individuals.

Second: Drinking Water Relief – A Drop of Water Equals a Life: In a country suffering from a severe shortage of clean water, the drinking water relief project had the greatest impact, reaching 23,571 beneficiaries.

1- Providing potable water: Through 167 water tankers, displacement camps and population centers in Taiz, Hadramout, and Abyan were supplied with clean water, which directly contributed to the prevention of diseases transmitted through contaminated water, such as cholera and diarrhea, benefiting more than 23,446 individuals.

2- Improving sanitation: The intervention was not limited to providing water, but extended to improving health infrastructure. Four sanitary bathrooms were built in Bin Aifan- Alqatin area, enhancing human dignity and limiting the spread of epidemics. 125 people benefited from these facilities.

Third: A touch of warmth through shelter and clothing projects:

During the campaign, the Foundation presented:

Shelter Project: due to winter coming , the campaign distributed 31 winter clothing items and quilts in Hadramout and Taiz, to serve as a protective shield for children and adults from the harsh cold.

Fourth: Dignity-preserving support through emergency cash Aid: 51 families benefited from direct cash assistance, giving them the freedom to purchase medicine, repay debts, or meet other emergency needs. This approach preserves the dignity of beneficiaries and strengthens their resilience.

 Conclusion …

“Rescue Them” campaign is not just numbers; it is human stories of hope and resilience.

It is a living embodiment of the meaning of compassion and solidarity, and an affirmation that thoughtful interventions, even if emergency, can leave a lasting impact on people’s lives. As the need continues, hope remains that such qualitative initiatives will continue to reach every person in need and afflicted.
